Your dissertation answers to the college or university that will examine it: UWI in the Caribbean, WACS or NPMCN in West Africa, COSECSA across East, Central and Southern Africa, or your own university’s postgraduate rules. NMC PGMER-2023 and the NBEMS thesis timelines, which govern Indian programmes, are not yours.

Where a college format is one we have not read before, we read its published guidance first and say so rather than assuming it resembles another.

Where your university publishes a similarity threshold, we work to it. Where it publishes none, we work to the stricter convention we use in India — similarity under 10%^[3] — and a word-level MDSoftune report travels with every draft, as an additional review before your institution runs its own check. Its results depend on the sources and settings available to it, and may differ from your institution’s own report.

You remain the sole author of your thesis. We mentor, edit, analyse and check; we do not write it, and we claim no authorship and no co-authorship. Where your institution or a journal asks for that help to be disclosed, we help you disclose it in the form they require, and authorship of any paper that follows is decided by the ICMJE contribution criteria^[4]. That holds across the Caribbean and Africa exactly as it holds everywhere else.
